Following the success of our Italian coloring sheets for kids, I though I’d make a few more, this time with the spirit of the season in mind!
Christmas is a big holiday in Italy: families come together for a meal on Christmas eve and Christmas Day, Italian Santa comes to town, nativity scenes and Christmas trees appear all around the country to celebrate this time of the year, in religious or non religious ways.
These are some Italian Christmas coloring pages your kids may like, with elements that are traditional for this season in Italy – as you will see, some are common to other cultures, but some are unique!
These sheets are for you to download for free, for your kids to use them. They cannot be redistributed, packaged or sold in any way shape or form – if you have a friend who’d like them, sent them onto this page and they can get them for free!

Italian Christmas and season greetings sheets
In Italy, we can wish one another Marry Christmas and a Happy new year in a few way.
You can say Buon Natale! This is Merry Christmas in Italian
You can say Buone Feste! This means ‘Happy Holiday’ and it is often used if the person you are speaking with doesn’t celebrate Christmas.
if you want to wish a Happy New Year in Italian, you say Buon anno!
You can also combine them! You could say Buon Natale e Buon Anno! (Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!)
Holiday Themes Italian Coloring sheets for kids
In Italy, at Christmas we decorate Christmas Trees just like it happens in other countries.
We use Christmas boubles, tinsel, lights and, often, a star on top.
We exchange gifts at midnight on Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day – each family has a slightly different tradition about this and all are valid!
Santa of course comes to Italy too! In Italian, Santa is Babbo Natale (Italian Santa) but he is the same one!
Italian Christmas Traditions Coloring Pages
In Italy, we also have some specifi traditions that may be different from what you are used to.
A very important one is the one of the Nativity Scene, which we call il Presepe. You can learn all about Italian Presepe here.
The Nativity scenes usually have the crib and, on the 6th January, they also have the Three Kings who, traditions tells us, arrived to see Baby Jesus on that day.
We call them Re Magi.
Befana Coloring Sheet
On the 6th of January in Italy, we also celebrate the arrival of La Befana (abroad, she is often referred to as ‘Italy’s Christmas Which’). She travels the world on her broomstick and carries sweets and coals to children in a long stocking!

Italian Christmas desserts coloring sheets
In Italy, there are three main desserts you’ll find all over Italy: Pandoro, Panettone and Torrone. Panettone is a baked good traditionally made with raising and candies orange, pandoro is similar plain and with a dusting of icing sugar, while torrono is chocolate, nougat and nuts!
